Currently I’m Playing…

Filed under: Gaming Gossip — Naye @ 9:12 pm

Scrabble Blast.  My guys are both playing Borderlands on XBox.  I’m the one that wanted the game.  They both said it wouldn’t be good; however, I rented it, we all liked it, and they bought it.  I don’t have an XBox and I won’t spend the money on a third copy so I’m left out. =(  I’ve made a siren and I play with TBF when he’s not playing with Ethan, but I’m not going to kick one of them off for me to play….so I sit here playing Scrabble online by myself.  *sigh*

Rated M for Mature Audiences Only

Filed under: Gaming Gossip, Family Funhouse — Naye @ 8:34 pm

The kids had money from Christmas burning a hole in their pocket so I agreed to take them to the mall after I got off work on Friday.  Vanessa texted me Friday afternoon while I was working and said she’d made a hair appointment for 4:30 and would be home as quickly as possible.  I knew then that we most likely would not make it to the mall with time to shop…lol  I got home about 5:30 and she texted me, “We’re just waiting to rinse my hair.”  She got high and low lights in her hair and I’m not sure I like it.  The colors are very contrasting and I’m just not into that; however, she liked it and that’s all that counts.

A couple hours later, after Vanessa had taken home her girlfriend and picked up her boyfriend, we finally headed to the mall.  We got there with 30 minutes to shop before they closed.  We hit Abercrombie first and Ethan wanted a hoodie, but expected me to buy it.  WRONG!  He decided not to get it.  We went to Aeropostle and Vanessa bought two pairs of sweat pants that were on sale for $9.99.  Ethan and I went to American Eagle while Vanessa was in line to pay for her stuff.  They closed the door before Vanessa and Cody got there…lol  We left and on our way out of the mall, Ethan said, “If I buy that hoodie and don’t have enough money left for Halo 3, will you pay the rest?”  I agreed since I know the only time he volunteers to spend his money is if it’s something he really really likes…or food.  On the way home, we stopped by WM to pick up Halo 3 and they were out!  I couldn’t believe it.  We grabbed a bite to eat and went home after I promised Ethan I’d take him to my WM in the morning to get it.

Yesterday morning, I asked Vanessa to run Ethan to WM to get his game.  After they left, it hit me that it’s rated M and they weren’t old enough to buy it.  I called them and they were already at the store.  A few minutes later, the called back, “No problem mom, the guy thought I was 18 and sold it to us.”  She was proud.  I was scared!  I don’t think she looks 18 and I certainly don’t like the idea of her being that old!  She’s not even 17 yet!  However, I was happy I didn’t have to make another trip to get it so I let it go….lol

Ethan got home, asked if he could plug his XBox up in the living room, and proceeded to play Halo 3 until he beat it.  Yup.  Took all of one day. =/  First thing this morning, one of his friends came over and that’s all they’ve done today - play two players.  Little addict.  Can’t wait to see how long it holds his attention online…lol

That’s frightening. Your daughter doesn’t look anywhere near 18 to me.

What part is the rated M part?

  3. Comment by Chris — January 2, 2008 @ 1:29 pm

It’s probably due to Violence. I don’t own it so not sure. The label on the back usually says why. The rating system for most VGs is fairly dumb anyways.

Computer Woes

Filed under: Other Nonsense, Gaming Gossip — Naye @ 2:05 pm

I got a new mobo and cpu, plugged it all up, and couldn’t get my computer to turn on.  Today, I switched out cases.  The computer turns on, starts to boot up, and does exactly what the old mobo and CPU did.  =(  Tested the spare hard drive and it doesn’t work.  Apparently it’s the hard drive that is not working.  *cries*  I just cannot win for losing here.

I’m still waiting to hear that someone lost a controller and now there’s a huge hole in your TV. I could never allow one of those near my TV. It is precious to me. My preciousssss. That is one of the more fun looking games for a Wii though. As a kid I would’ve wanted it for sure. Even now it looks fun.

Adventure Quest

Filed under: Gaming Gossip — Naye @ 8:08 am

I don’t know where I’ve been that I missed AQ getting as big as it has.  I know all the kiddies Krieger picked up from it, but I didn’t realize that Artix not only made it onto Wikipedia, but also has two more games.  I discovered this while searching J!nx and finding Twilly there!

Where have I been?…lol  Congrats Artix!  I cannot believe that little game got so big.

Read this:

“Artix mentioned that he is hoping to pitch a fully animated TV show based on dragonfable to a major network in the future, but for now a small 15 minute-per-episode show is to be made ‘in-house’ as stated in the design notes April 17th 2007. “We are going to take on two video projects. #1 We are going to build our own animated series in house. 15 minute episodes based on the side facing art that is in the existing game. In fact, Miltionius already sent Warlic and I version one the intro animation! Voice acting is going to be interesting! #2 We are going to continue seriously talking with other companies about pitching a high quality anime-style show to a major network. When the time comes, I am going to ask for your help to make it happen.”"

…and watch this!

I’ve actually been playing this for quite some time now. It’s great when I don’t have the time (or inclination) to play WoW, and even better for when I’m travelling. It’s an amazingly huge world with constant updates and lots of stuff to kill.

I think I look kinda weird in it. Lol… big weird ears, huge eyes, but love the tail. :) Ah to be lil Twilly again.

Question of the day

Filed under: Other Nonsense, Gaming Gossip — Naye @ 4:06 pm

The question of the day was unknowingly submitted by Chaosbug:

“This net dating thing is gonna be the end of humanity….why can’t ppl find someone great to have a crush on and stick with them like I have?”

The answer:

Don’t think of it as internet dating. Think of it as dating the stars. There’s a hottie (real or imagined) that is shown all over your small screen…and unlike say Johnny Depp or Scarlett Johansson, they’re interacting with you on a daily basis. Your own, personal star. You like gaming. They do too! You like Hinder. They do too!

You obviously have tons in common…and of course you believe you cannot be attracted to them for purely physical reasons since you’ve not really seen them. Just ignore the idea of their scantily clad character running to meet you on the beach in STV…or their glamour shot photo. That has nothing to do with your attraction to them.

You call them….and talk….a lot. It’s fun. So much to talk about. You want your epic? I do too! You have to work tomorrow? Me too! You’re h4wt for me? I’m h4wt for you too!

Finally, you get to meet them. So what if they’re skin isn’t flawless, they have more of a belly than you thought, and their teeth aren’t straight. You weren’t expecting them to look like their character after all!

Soon though, you realize maybe you weren’t as attracted to them as you thought. Otherwise, why would that new little druid seem so appealing to you? The new druid doesn’t whine about how you don’t call. They don’t suggest that maybe you should get out more or that you should spend more time with them. They like you for who you are instead of trying to change you. You have so much in common…

    What’s Hinder?

    Venture makes me sad :(

  3. Comment by Mycroft — January 6, 2007 @ 1:19 pm

Heh, I had the same question … I checked wiki and I see that Hinder is a music group … dunno if that’s the right Hinder or not (a quick check on iTunes shows a number of songs with “Explicit” lyrics =O )

Of course, that’s what dating is all about, seeing how compatible two folks may be … and even then lots of folks who get married end up divorced. =(

  4. Comment by Venture — January 7, 2007 @ 10:03 pm

I’m not into your “rock and roll”, ya whippersnapper. Why, when I was growing up, music was made with some twangin’ dental floss, 2 spoons and an overturned pot. And we had to walk 12 miles uphill to hear it. In the snow. At night.

WAKE UP!!!!!!!!!!!!

Filed under: Gaming Gossip, Family Funhouse — Naye @ 9:24 pm

At about 7AM, I couldn’t stand waiting any longer and I woke the kids up…lol  They were tired, but I didn’t have to threaten to beat them to make them come open their Christmas presents.

The kids opened all the presents and their stocking stuffers, but not the Wii.  I hid it in my room.  Ethan got up and said, “I’m going to take a shower.”  I said, “E, you’ve got one more gift…”  and threw some boxers that wouldn’t fit in his stocking to him.  He took off into the kitchen, heading to the bathroom.  “ETHAN!  You have one more gift!!!”  …and I grab a sack, tilting it so Rebecca and Vanessa can see the box inside that says Wii.  The girls start yelling, but Ethan is shouting back, “I’ll be back in a minute.”  I then put my foot down, “ETHAN LEE!  GET IN HERE RIGHT NOW!”  …and he starts back.

I’d set the sack down on the sofa and he looked down in it thinking it was a shirt or something.  He never even looked at the top of the box.  He couldn’t really see in the sack because it was dark, but he didn’t need to.  The girls started yelling, “It’s a Wii!!!”  His eyes got huge and he was grinning from ear to ear.  He said, “It’s a Wii?”  “Yup!  I wasn’t fibbing to you when I said I couldn’t find one.  We got it at the last minute!”

The next thing I know, he’s heading back down the hall with it.  I thought he was going to hook it up, but no.  He took it into the bathroom with him while he showered…lol  He didn’t want the girls playing it first.

He hooked it up as soon as he got out and was playing it until time to go to my mom’s.  He took it over there, where everyone begged to get to play…and luckily, he got another controller from my little sister.  He’s currently back in his room, playing it again…and my nephew came to spend the night.  Watching them box is the funniest thing ever!

I’m dying to play Zelda, but no luck.  I haven’t gotten any play time yet…lol  Maybe tomorrow after work.

Merry Christmas everyone.  I hope your family had as much fun as mine!!!

How is Zelda on the Wii?

  2. Comment by Naye — December 31, 2006 @ 8:02 am

Ethan loves it. It’s pretty cool actually. He’ll be walking through, see something to attack, and whip the wiimote around - which makes his sword whip around. It’s funny to watch. He thought he was pretty far into the game so I pulled up a Zelda website that gave a list of all the areas. He was about 1/3 of the way through…lol

Don’t tell me you have not yet tried Zelda! ;) What did you think? =)

  4. Comment by Naye — January 2, 2007 @ 9:04 am

lol…I really haven’t tried it yet. All I get to do is watch and make suggestions. Looks like tons of fun though!
