Called the net guy, he said another week.  Rather than getting me a pole and hooking up my net, he’s replacing his equpiment in town.  I’m not holding my breath any more.  I’m currently connected on my sister’s father-in-law’s business account.  If I can get a stronger signal, I can stay hooked up to his network.  He’s allowed up to 20 computers.  The signal is weak though.  Not sure there’s any way to boost it.

I’m still alive though!  I’ll be back…eventually.

    I don’t have a good picture on how your sister’s father-in-law’s network is constructed, but Linksys does sell antennas to increase the effective range of wireless devices, and a “range expander” (used as a “relay station” or “repeater”):
